ERZETIC Azeiqi Family Heritage

Knowledge cannot be bought, and so is true love. We learn all our lives, learn from the experience of our parents, and pass it on to the next generation.

Since 1725, we have combined rich experience with the natural environment, grape cultivation and winemaking, and will also pour the love of the world and the Balda into our wines, and pass them on from generation to generation.

Erzetič Ezeki Manor is located in the village of Višnjevik, designed by Martin Erzetič. Because of this, the Erzetič estate has always been called the Land of Martin (Martin Holy Land).

Decades ago, Anton Erzetič appointed his son Aleksij Erzetič a few years ago, while Aleksij Erzetič also handed over the wine industry and winery management to his son Andrej Erzetič. Each generation of winery successors has their own vision, but will never deviate from the values of the family, such as diligence, teamwork and continuous improvement of vineyards and cellars. During the harvest season, these values are most evident – after months of hard work, a movement has been established for the beginning of the new wine story.

 Visnjevik village and vineyard

The Balda Mountains extend from the right bank of the Soča river to the Everuri area, which is located at an altitude of 219 meters, and the village of Višnjevik is located here. During the Middle Ages, it wasRittersbergThe location of the monarch manor in Rittsburg, yesThe oldest manor in Balda.

Steep slopes are not suitable for agricultural production, but favorable climatic conditions are conducive to the growth of grapes, olives, cherries and fig trees. Climate conditions are influenced by the Julian Alps and the Adriatic, the soil here ispyreticsAndsandstone layerof the mixture,Rich in calcium and minerals.

In the Brda area, especially in the vineyards of Azeqi, there is no heavy machinery operation space, so it needs to be carefully cultivated and picked, and the terraced fields form beautiful natural lines around the steep slopes. The Azeqi family conforms to the natural environment and advocatesPure natural, original grape growing and winemaking methods, and developed uniqueorganic viticulturebase.

Modern Wine Cellar & Traditional Underground Claypot

In our latest cellar, many large clay clay pots are buried deep underground, just like the way ancient cider and wine were made in 6000 BC. These pots have different capacities of 360 liters to 2500 liters, which are the best containers for long-term aging except for the aging method of the barrels. Thanks to the aging time obtained after careful consideration, the winemaker can maximize the potential of the wine and develop a unique wine style according to the grapes picked at each time. For young and fresh wines, it is not realistic to get the timelessness of aging time, just like in a stainless steel can with a aging of a wine puree, which is not realistic. In ancient times, people calculated the aging and bottling time of the wine according to the circle of the moon. Today, we combine these ancient experiences with modern knowledge and state-of-the-art equipment to allow wine to mature and aging in the most natural way. Whether it is in the vineyard or in the cellar, everything is designed to allow the winemaker to turn the joy of harvesting high-quality healthy grapes into the flavor of the wine by picking the highest-quality healthy grapes, and pass this joy to the wine taster.

wine that grows with us

The complexity of our wine cannot be limited to a few chemical formulas, and it is by no means a large number of words to describe clearly. Wine is a product of nature, giving people a fleeting feeling. Humans try to comprehend the gifts of nature and try to preserve her beauty in order to be closely connected with nature. Edzeki wine talks about the connection between the earth, the vines and people. We pay tribute to the generous nature with a glass of champagne sparkling wine, thank her with young wine, and define her ever-changing with ripe wine. When we toast, everything is silent.
