Nazarij Glavina
Mr. Ludvik, the owner of the village, has decided to inherit the family tradition from his father Nazarij since he was a child, and has inherited the love and tricks of grape and olive cultivation, wine trade and Slovenia Estrian tradition.
Mr. Ludvik founded the Santomas brand in 1997 and personally designed the Santomas trademark, which was inspired by the book ‘A Len Julien, a French wine writer in 1832’topographie de tous les vignobles‘, the author of the book mentioned the wine from the Santomas area, the body is full, and the taste is round, which is pleasing.

The brewer Uros studied brewing at the universities in Slovey and France from 1997 to 2001. Since 2007, he has served as a professional judge for international wine competitions in Slovenia and Europe, Asia, South Africa and other regions.
When brewing wine, it not only follows the knowledge in the book, but also pays attention to the perception of the grape varieties, the perception of the terroir and the understanding of the owner’s vision.

Easteria – Soil

dobrave (4.8 hectares, 100 meters above sea level, Leversko, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) The vineyard is located between the villages of Šmarje and Padna.
Čerteže (2.5 hectares, 100 meters above sea level, Lephsco, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) CetazeIt is one of the best and most promising vineyards in Santomas, which grows the highest quality grapes for the blending series. The vineyard is located in Šmarje and The valley area between the villages of Padna is surrounded by the typical forests of the Istria region and the sub-Mediterraneous Mediterranean, surrounded by oaks, black beech trees, ash trees and other sub-Mediterraneous trees, thus forming a unique miniature climate.
sergaši (5.4 hectares, 160 meters above sea level, Levsco, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malzeya) The vineyard is located in the village of Sergaši on the hillside of Gašon. The vine has a vine age of more than 50-60 years, the growth is balanced, and the quality of the grapes is stable, so it can make high-quality vintage wines suitable for aging in the barrels and bottles – Refošk Antonius sergaši Anthony Levsko.


hrib (6.4 hectares, 270 meters above sea level, Leversko, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sila, Malzeya) Relatively young vineyards, located on a sunny slope, extending from the village of Šmarje to Grintavec. Leversco is planted with rich and varied flavors, and the earliest picking year was 2012.
IZola (2.7 hectares, 40-90 meters above sea level, Lephsco, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malzea) The vineyard is close to the Adriatic Sea, and the wine produced is rich in minerality.
poljane (1.2 hectares, 270 meters above sea level, Leversko, Malzea) The vineyard is surrounded by the vineyard, Lephsco is planted in the upper part of the area, and Malzea is planted in the lower part of the area.
All vineyards in St. Thomas use sustainable ecological planting methods, and we understand the huge regeneration ability of the vines and as the most beautiful in the world. The humility of the Liman plant, therefore, the vineyard planting, we follow the laws of nature, rarely human intervention, and thus gain a harvest every autumn.
Wine cellar

Mr. Ludvik established a new wine cellar and oil factory in 2005, and was built with pure blue stone in Istria, whose design inspiration comes from the architect Marko Lavrenčič, which is divided into three floors, has a total area of more than 2,400 square meters.
The original stone windows on the north wall of the Šmarje church tower mark the beginning of Christianity in the area. Ludvik Nazarij Glavina uses this stone window pattern as a sign of the Santomas trademark.

Wines

Santomas wine is a product of the Slovenian hilly Istria region. Mainly cultivated indigenous varieties such as Levsko and Istria Malzea. The combination of tradition and the latest technology produces wines with Slovenian Istrian characteristics.
Santomas wine is divided into two series to meet the different needs of wine lovers.
fresh wine treat Wines
The first collection is fresh wine that has not been ripe with oak barrels, which is refreshing and energetic, including Leversco, Cabernet Sauvignon, Maltese and rose-flavored grapes.
Aged wines Aged Wines
Santomas vintage is a product of hard work, strict screening, careful love for vines and winemaking skills. The ripe grapes in the best area of the very low yield (2-3000 liters/ha) of the vineyards are made. The collection includes Anthony Levsco, Anthony Cabernet Sauvignon and Blended Grande Cuvée.
The Cellar of Santomas can hold about 80,000 bottles (0.75 liters) of wine each year. In a particularly good year, there will be about 144 large bottles of wine in cans, and the best representative is the Grande Cuvée of the Sittaze blend.
