Go and see, those beautiful things that can’t be noticed by the naked eye
Dialogue with nature is essentially a dialogue with self. Since the grapes of the Edi Simčič family winery matured for the first time in the sunny vineyard, we are well aware of this.
Our wine is the crystallization of the coexistence of man and nature. Each cup is full of terroir stories, the sweat of hard work, and the love and perseverance that is integrated into this natural gift.
This is an ultimate taste bud experience, which makes people heart and heart, and it also makes people closer to this land that nurtures wine – Gorica Mountain. Brda.

Beginnings – EDI Simcic
In the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, Marica and Edi Simčič worked together to take care of 3.5 hectares of vineyards while working at the then Dobrovo agricultural cooperatives. In 1989, we completed the first wine bottle in the winery, with a total output of 3,000 bottles. After Marica and Edi retired, their son Alex completed his studies and took over the management of the winery in the 1990s, establishing a clear development vision for the brand and laying the foundation for the brand of the winery. Starting from the small wine cellar that was originally located in the house, we have gradually upgraded with the ever-growing and changing business needs, and this cellar has finally developed into today’s modern facility. Today, this dynamic family story has ushered in the third generation inheritor – Jure and Jakob, two sons of Alex.
Today’s Edi Simčič winery:
Size of the vineyard: 13 hectares, a total of 90,000 vines
Annual production: 65,000 bottles of wine

Cellar
At first, the space problem was not particularly tricky. In the early 1990s, the five stainless steel fermentation tanks in our starting lineup, at most seven or eight, were directly placed in the underground space of their houses. The first few oak barrels were also stuffed here.
But as time goes on, the production of wine continues to rise, and the space of the original cellar is gradually stretched. We first digged down and expanded the capacity, and then expanded the wine cellar a passage extending below the road, and recently completed a new round of expansion. We have also added a new tasting room for wine displays and tastings.
The architectural design team of this project (Plusminus30) fully considered the integration of the building and the surrounding environment in the design, ensuring that it will not destroy the original outline and landscape vision of the village. The final design scheme is built on the surrounding traditional architectural style, and the building naturally extends from the terrain.
Cellar Core Data:
- Annual output: about 65,000 bottles of wine
- Cellar capacity: It can hold 100,000 liters of wine and 500 oak barrels, and there is plenty of space to support the wine for many years of aging. There are 3-4 different years of wine in the wine cellar at the same time, which are in the stage of barrel or bottle-chen.

family and land
Our unique story for the family and the pure GoriChashan. BalticDa bloodline is deeply proud. This journey was started by EDI Simcic and Marica, and is handed down by Aleks, Jure, Jakob and Martina, guiding us to move forward with heart and sincerity, and always encourage communication and a common future vision.
The story of EDI and Marica began in the 1960s. At that time, they worked in the Dobrow Agricultural Cooperative, with a sincere love for their homeland, nature and grape cultivation. In their spare time, they take care of the 3.5-hectare family vineyards, always abide by Edi’s life creed:
”All actions are good.”

Winery and Vineyards
For decades, the winery has successively expanded the two villages, Fiona and Kozana, which have been abandoned.
These vineyards are of great significance to us because of its unique Okay soil and plot conditions – it is this natural environment that allows us to make a single garden wine with a distinctive style to satisfy the most picky taste buds of the guests.

The vineyard follows the concept of organic cultivation and is based on careful observation. Each vineyard is cultivated and fertilized according to its own characteristics. Pruning in winter and thinning fruit in spring is the key to ensuring the best balance of vines.
We manage vineyards with low intervention: keep high grass, do not remove leaves, so that the vines grow naturally without additional pressure.
